Andy's parents, Rick and Anne McClelland, recieved their mission call yesterday. They are off to the Moscow, Russia mission in late June of this year! Senior missionary couples tyically serve for 18 months. We're sure going to miss them!
We're so excited and apprehensive for them all at the same time. Rick and Anne can best be described as heat lovin' Texans. Anne especially was hoping the call to serve would be to anywhere but someplace cold, however they will be happy to serve anywhere they are needed, that's just the kind of people they are. They are amazing and I'm sure the people of Russia will grow to love them as much as they will grow to love the people of Russia.
The picture is of St. Basils and it is from the Moscow daily shot blog, which you can visit by clicking here.

My best of friends served in the Siberia of Russia (there is a russian word for it but I am sure that I would write it completely wrong-the translation of it though is Northern Siberia). The coldest part of Russia. She loved it and learned to love the people. She actually studied Russian when we were in high school. Her husband was actually in the same mission. They did not like each other on their mission. Things obviously changed when they got home. They both did their law school internships over there too.
They will love it there and love the culture.
How exciting! Josh was in Finland on his mission which is right by Russia. In fact, the russian missionaries had to come into Finland to renew their visas so he saw them often. My cousin actually served in Russia too, but in some way crazy out of the way place that I can't remember the name. He loved it though! I bet they will love it too, even though it's cold. That picture is absolutely beautiful!
WOW! Russian is such a beautiful place, I'm sure they will love it! I'm not sure about the Winter there thought...
